Herbs are not only capable of making your food taste better, but they also play a role in weight loss, some do at least. They do this because it takes more calories to digest than what they actually contain.
Cutting out sugars, measuring portions and cutting out calories will help you lose weight, but the fastest way is to burn fat. While we know exercise is a great fat burner, herbs can play an important part in the fat burning diet by helping to melt unwanted fat.

White Willow Bark is another synergetic herb that enhances the properties of both Bitter Orange and Yerba Mate. The result is a breakdown of fat cells, making it easier to burn them away. It is also very effective in helping metabolize fat into energy.

Flaxseed is an annual herb that is rich in Omega-3 and as we know, Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid. Fatty acids keep our metabolism running at optimal speed, increasing our ability to burn fat.
Lesser known fat burning herbs:
Garcinia Cambogia and Gymnema Sylvestre are probably not herbs most are acquainted with. In India Garcinia Cambogia comes in the form of a small orange fruit similar to the Tamarind. Cooks use it as a spice, but it contains properties which helps convert carbohydrates into glycogen instead of fat.
Gymnema Sylvestre tea is also found in India it helps conquer sweet cravings. The taste resembles glucose which when taken makes sugar taste bland and unappealing.
